LOMAH podcast review

LOMAH

Hosted by Kim Albrecht

Parenting and supporting loved ones with disabilities can be a physically, mentally, and emotionally challenging task. On top of the day-to-day supports needed, families are also called upon to plan for the futures of loved ones with special needs. These plans may include finding and securing housing, ensuring that finances are in order, and considering long-term safety needs.

In the LOMAH podcast, Kim Albrecht, a mother of a transition-aged daughter with autism who requires significant support, explores a wide range of topics as she discovers and shares resources for her daughter’s future. In this podcast, Kim “dives deep” into a topic for 10-12 episodes. She asks practical questions and finds expert guests to help listeners learn about options and access important resources for their loved ones and families. Topics include—but are not limited to—transition planning, housing, financial planning, safety, and challenging behaviors. Kim learns along with her listeners and asks the real, raw questions that we may be asking ourselves.

LOMAH stands for “Land of Milk and Honey” and is a reference to God’s Old Testament promise to deliver his people. Journey to LOMAH offers practical information alongside the overarching theme of trusting God to deliver his people and release all fear of upcoming challenges. There are several episodes that specifically offer spiritual support from God’s promises in his Word.

LOMAH is an award-winning, relatable, and informative podcast for anyone that is supporting a loved one with a life-long disability. Visit lomah.org to learn more or search for LOMAH on your podcast app. You can also follow Kim on Instagram at journey2lomah.
